I appreciate the fact that the TRS members who have been supporting the UPA government have resigned their seats in protest, apparently, over the waffling of the Congress party/UPA government over their demands for creation of a separate Telengana state.
If Jharkhand could be seperated form Bihar, if Uttaranchal Pradesh could be seperated from UP what was the point in the present government holding out against a separate Telengana state?
That the TRS members of Parliament have found it fit to resign at the eleventh hour before elections only means that these worthies had got used to the power and pelf of life in N.Delhi at the cost of the desires/dreams of their constituents in Telengana.
They, the Telengana people, should remember that the Congress party is as much a UP/Bihar centered party as the BJP or regional parties of that ilk. Therefore the centre headed by Manmohan Singh and orchestrated by Sonia Gandhi will not be in a position to help them unless they agitate strongly and encourage young people to take up the cause without being carried away by the scents and smiles (sic) of Delhi.
It should be remembered by the people living south of the Vindhayas that the last battle of Panipat was fought between our Maharathas and the invaders from Afghanistan. The North Indians did hardly anything to help the Maharathas when they were in dire need at that time. They will not do anything to assuage the feelings of the Telanganaites whom, I have no doubt, they derisively refer to as ‘Madrasis’.
